At least my friends and family knew me and trusted me. So, it was no surprise that the strangers I was speaking to were much harder to convince

Some didn’t even bother saying anything. They just flat out ignored me and didn’t bother to return my phone calls

One of the biggest mistakes most network marketers make is posting about their network marketing opportunity and products.

You’ve seen it before

Where your friend signs up in a network marketing company selling skincare, fitness supplements, a forex trading or even crypto opportunity and then posts about it all day everyday and twice on Sundays.

It’s pretty annoying right?

To make matters worse, more than 95% of network marketers do this….spam their company name and products all over social media hoping to sign up new customers and members

The problem is…this tactic does not work. It has never worked and will never work

Why you might ask…..

Many have been scammed before and above all, they are being flooded with the same “JOIN MY OPPORTUNITY” posts on all their social media accounts

STEP #1 – Brand Yourself Not Your MLM

Ok. So this first point is absolutely vital. Even though it might not make sense at first
But think about it like this. If you think of your MLM as “your business” then mentally you’ll convince yourself that you should promote their name and product.

However, if you think about YOU being the business. You’ll mentally know that you need to brand yourself and not your MLM.

Your network marketing opportunity isn’t your business….literally (it and your downline belongs to the owner of the company)

So you should not be posting the company name or products on your social media or Watsapp profiles at all

Stay with me. This will make sense shortly. So trust me

Don’t Spam and brand the MLM

One of the biggest reasons not to show people which network marketing company you promote is because of something called “Google”

Think about it. When you signed up into the company, even you may have did a Google search of the company?

If you did not do that. I can assure you that 8 to 9 out of every ten people you show will likely search Google to see if your company is legit.

And most times there is lots of negative (albeit incorrect) info out there on most MLM companies.

Another reason not to brand the MLM company is that sometimes these companies fail. Some are found out to be illegal and get forced to close down.

Others (as I experienced first hand) go through financial and/or technical difficulties and stop paying their members.

And if you branded yourself against the company name. You take the heat as well and lose credibility with your prospects.

But think about brands like Walmart, Amazon and other big retailers. Under their brand names, they offer various products and services of other companies.

Walmart might sell Cadbury chocolates. But Walmart brands itself, not Cadbury. Amazon brands itself, not the products and brand they sell on their website

So we should also create our own brands, under which we offer various products and services. One of which can be your network marketing products and opportunity.

Make sense?

This is why you go into the online marketplace by branding yourself or creating your own brand name and identity.

STEP #2 – Who is Your Ideal Audience

Would you try to sell meat to a vegetarian?

I assume your answer to that was a resounding “No”. Because it’s quite obvious right. If your ideal customer is someone who has chosen to only eat a vegetarian diet, all the convincing in the world will not work if you have a meat product to sell.

Lets look at this from another angle…….

If YOU were vegetarian and I showed you an opportunity where you could make a ton of money selling rare and exotic meat products.

Would you sign up to this amazing opportunity because the money sounds good, even if it means you yourself do not eat meat?

Seems like common sense right? But it is most certainly not common practice

What normally happens is that someone signs up for a network marketing opportunity because they’re painted this picture that there’s a ton of money to be made

And so they go off and try to also convince other people that the product and money making opportunity is so great

This is the reason so many people struggle with recruiting in network marketing….they try to convince everyone that their product and business opportunity is amazing

Instead, think about who is the ideal audience you wish to serve

I understand that in most cases, people sign up into an opportunity first because the product or money making opportunity looks great.

The ideal way to get involved in a network marketing opportunity would be to first think about what YOUR interests, passions or experiences have been and then find a company that offers something within those interests or passions.

Which means that your ideal audience will basically be people JUST LIKE YOU who are interested in the same things you are.

But, lets say you signed up into the opportunity first….

What you should do next is ask yourself the following questions….

1) “Who is this product for” – so if you signed up into an opportunity that offers a forex product. Then the product is for people who wish to learn and trade forex right?

2) “What problems does this audience have?” – back to our forex example. Perhaps these aspiring forex traders have the problem that they do not know how to trade the markets. They lose money when they trade. They don’t where to get started and which broker to register with to open their forex trading account.

You then decide that the product offered by the network marketing company you joined, is for people who wish to trade the forex market successfully but don’t have the skills or time to do it

STEP #3 – Create A (Free) Solution

Once you have Established who your audience is. Next you want to ATTRACT them with a solution to their problem

Now. This is where most people will start pitching their ideal audience the product that their network marketing company offers. But it’s too soon and people will likely not sign up.

Why you ask?

Well. Its simple. If you are speaking to strangers, they probably do not know you or trust you.

So pitching them right off the bat is a bad marketing move

Instead, you want to CREATE a FREE solution for your audience.

If we go back to our forex example. You could for instance offer them a free e-book that teaches them “10 things every new forex trader needs to know” OR you could host a FREE webinar offering to teach them “The Basics of Forex Trading”

By offering a free piece of content to your ideal audience so that they can begin to TRUST YOU first, before trying to sell them.

First establish your brand and identify who the perfect audience is for the product you have to offer. Then create a solution that offers them free advice on one particular problem they might have

STEP #4 – Create Content Online

After the first 3 steps. The last step is to now create content online that will brand you as the person who helps a certain audience achieve a specific result

It doesn’t really matter which social media platforms you choose. What’s more important is that your message is so clear that when your ideal audience sees a video, or Facebook, TikTok or Twitter post, they say to themselves…

“This content is for me”

What then happens is that people from your ideal audience begin to you because you are speaking their language.

And when you do post or offer them something, you are offering them a FREEBIE on the topic they are interested in.

This allows people to get to know you and trust you enough

And as you keep showing up for that audience….and give them all this amazing value. Eventually they BUY from you and decide to sign up for your opportunity
